Friday 19 March 2021, 2:43 PM

TIMTOS 2021 Online received 57,535 visits in the first two days, following the show’s launch on March 15. A number of online and offline activities have also been held simultaneously. These include Online Sourcing Meetings (TTS Match), TIMTOS Factory Live, TIMTOS Studio for New Product Launches, TIMTOS Glimpse’s Smart Manufacturing Factory Tour, and the Smart Manufacturing Summit. All of these events have been very popular both at home and abroad, with many exhibitors praising TIMTOS 2021 as being “really very different!”.

Among these events, the Smart Manufacturing Summit had a strong line-up of speakers. First up were three speeches given by President James Yang of Innolux Corporation, President Bo-jia Chen of Yeong Chin Machinery Industries, and President Yung-Chih Cheng of TRUMPF Taiwan. In their cheerful and humorous lectures, they talked about the pain points, the breakthrough points, and education and policy in the context of the current smart manufacturing promotion in Taiwan. Moreover, they offered their recommendations, inspiring many participants to feel that smart manufacturing is not so out of reach. Rather, they only need to start investing on a small scale initially. In the afternoon session, Tino Hildebrand, General Manager of Digital Industries, Siemens Ltd., Taiwan, explained how Digital Twins can help high-precision digital simulation. In Taipei, the forum was very well-attended, with an additional 1,924 viewers watching the English live broadcast on the TIMTOS YouTube channel.

TAITRA has revealed that the top three buyer countries in the first two days of the online exhibition were India, Thailand, and Vietnam. Moreover, the number of buyers from the United States, Indonesia, and Turkey was also growing rapidly. As the online exhibition is equipped with a unique data trajectory function, the organizers are able to grab and analyze the distribution of exhibition hotspots. The background data has clearly shown that those enjoying high browsing rates included Fair Friend Group, Yeong Chin Machinery Industries, Victor Taichung Machinery Works, Tong-Tai Machine & Tool, HIWIN Technologies, Leadwell CNC Machines Mfg., Corp. and SHIN-YAIN Industrial Co., Ltd. The products that buyers were most interested in were CNC lathes, Five-Axis Vertical Machining Centers and so on. Buyers’ trajectories are also recorded simultaneously, so as to facilitate exhibitors following up with potential buyers and orders. Finally, it was found that many buyers from emerging countries, such as Brazil, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Russia, Colombia and  Belarus, participated in the online procurement meetings.

TIMTOS 2021 Online has been providing visitors and exhibitors with a full range of interactive opportunities from March 15 to 20. Visitors can continue to browse the online exhibition website until April 15. Participants are welcome to seize the opportunity to interact with exhibitors, exchange e-business cards for gold coins and accumulate them for a lucky draw.
