TIMTOS 2021 hosts Smart Manufacturing Summit

Thursday 18 March 2021, 8:55 AM

To help industry professionals discover the latest global trends in smart manufacturing and respond to the restructuring of global supply chains in the post pandemic era, the organizers of TIMTOS 2021 Online (TAITRA and Taiwan’s Bureau of Foreign Trade, MOEA) hosted a Smart Manufacturing Summit on March 16. This forum centred around the theme “The New Normal: Rethinking Supply Chains Strategy in a SMART way”, with a live broadcast in English aired simultaneously on the TIMTOS YouTube channel.

The summit focused on three major topics: Smart Manufacturing, Controller Solutions and Way to Link to the World, prompting participants to think, from a new perspective, about how to approach deploying global supply chains under the impact of the pandemic. The organizers invited 12 professional speakers, all of whom have been deeply involved in the machine tool industry, from iconic companies such as Yeong Chin, TRUMPF Taiwan, Siemens Taiwan, Taiwan Fanuc, Mitsubishi Electric Taiwan, Heidenhain, Innolux, Edgecross, Microsoft Taiwan, Industrial Technology Research Institute and Business Today. They discussed and offered various “smart solutions”, hoping to help industry players face challenges head on.

The forum was held on the second day of TIMTOS 2021 Online, attracting attention from buyers visiting the show. TIMTOS 2021 Online will be live from March 15 to 20. Not only does this show provide exhibitors with a platform to display their new products and make appointments with customers, it is also playing host to a series of peripheral activities including TIMTOS Glimpse – Smart Manufacturing Factory Tour, TIMTOS Factory Live, TIMTOS Studio – new product launches, and more, aiming to break through time and space restrictions to connect with global visitors.
