Consistent year on year growth, a record 2018 and a bulging order book for 2019 has now seen ROMI Machines UK appoint two new Regional Sales Managers to underpin the company’s growth strategy.

The Rugby based company has an extensive range of turning and machine centres in its portfolio as well as a sizeable foothold in the injection moulding market. The extremely diverse range of machine tools is suitable for every business from the small subcontractor to the OEM. This has recently been bolstered by the arrival of the fifth series of the popular D Series of vertical machining centres and the prospect of more machine launches later in 2019.

With all the growth and new product innovations, ROMI has created two new Regional Sales Manager positions. The company has appointed John Hawkins as the Regional Sales Manager for the Midlands, North and Scotland whilst the Wales, the South of the UK and Ireland will be service by the appointment of David Balfour.

Joining the company in February, John has been in the industry for over 25 years, starting his career as an apprentice and subsequently working his way up to the position of production engineer and service engineer with a number of prestigious companies. For more than 10 years, John has worked as a regional and technical sales manager with well known cutting tool and machine tool brands. Commenting upon joining ROMI, John said: “The opportunity was too good to miss. ROMI is a well established brand with a high-level of technology in its machines, which are backed by excellent stock levels and an impressive network of service engineers.”

The most recent appointment was made in March, with David Balfour joining the company as the Southern Regional Sales Manager. Also a time served apprentice, David started his engineering career almost 40 years ago and his journey has taken in significant periods as an application and sales engineer in the cutting tool and machine tool industry. David’s time in machine tool sales has taken in extended periods with vendors of both cost-effective machine tools as well as high-end technology solution providers.

The new appointments will bolster the position of ROMI Machines UK and underpin the potential for growth and the long term strategy. For further information on the extensive product range available from ROMI Machines UK, please contact ROMI or alternatively give John or David a call.
