Cooling with the new range of norelem refrigerant hoses

Friday 9 August 2019, 2:56 PM

Coolant hoses are vital for safe operation, maintenance and life of machinery. Now thanks to the wide range of refrigerant hoses and norelem accessories, design engineers and manufacturers can create virtually unlimited combinations of these vital parts.
Refrigerant hoses are also known as articulated hoses and are often responsible for pouring refrigerant into machines that work with metal, such as milling machines and lathes, to lubricate the machine and workpieces and keep temperatures low.

Lubrication is important since external friction or metal-to-metal contact produces approximately one third of the heat resulting from cutting or machining operations. If the cutting area is properly lubricated, the cutting is more efficient and external friction is reduced.

“The heat produced during machining has a direct effect on the wear of the machine. If the temperature of the cutting machine is reduced, even if it is only a small reduction, the useful life of the tool will be greatly expanded,” says Marcus Schneck , CEO of Norelem. “This is where our product range stands out. Its versatility and flexibility allows the refrigerant to be directed accurately and with optimal flow rates.”

The product range is also suitable for other uses such as, for example, hoses for compressed air systems or vacuum and suction hoses. In vacuum systems the hoses allow the extraction of smoke, waste or liquids that are formed during machining. On the other hand, the coolant hoses can hold protective shields to prevent damage to the machinery or hold chambers to control the machining equipment.

Coolant hoses offer virtually unlimited combinations thanks to their countless accessories and a full range of nozzles, valves and accessories. The product range is available in three diameters of ¼ »(6.7 mm in diameter), ½» (12.9 mm in diameter) and ¾ »(19.8 mm in diameter). Modular fittings allow to expand or increase the hose according to the needs.

The components are not electrical conductors and can be used in EDM machines. The range does not oxidize and is resistant to most chemicals and solvents. The hoses can withstand temperatures of -20 ºC to +80 ºC and are capable of maintaining their position at a working pressure of up to 3.5 bars and a flow rate of 950 l / min for dimensions of ¼ », 1800 l / min for dimensions of ½ »and 4300 l / min for dimensions of ¾».
